The second-largest man-made reservoir in the United States, Lake Powell sits along the Colorado River and is a popular vacation hotspot in the Colorado Plateau in Colorado, Arizona and Utah. The reservoir can store a whopping 24,322,000 acre feet of water when completely filled.
It was initially created after the Glen Canyon flooded by the Glen Canyon Dam. It is now a storage basin for Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
